Introduction, Common EMC Units, including dB, constants in physics, properties of material, signal spectra, frequency spectrum, simple EM radiators, characteristics of antennas, near/far field, how radiation efficiency outperforms signal spectrum on PCBs, real world properties of electronic components, emission and immunity standards, legislation, regulations, MRA, EU directives, Technical construction file (TCF) route versus harmonized product standards, declaration of conformity (DOC), Compliance versus pre-Compliance testing.
What you gain from the course: In 1/2 a day to 1 day, based on existing knowledge, clients will gain or refresh basic EMC knowledge. This will enable them to understand the more advanced technical courses.
Learning the systematic EMI control/EMC approach, legal issues, regulations, standards, schedule, financial traps, technical efforts, human resources, test facility management, in-house versus outsourcing, case studies, small-medium-large corporation concepts, time to market, risk analysis, optimized solutions and strategies.
What you gain from the course: In 1/2 a day to 1 day, based on existing knowledge, clients get a working overview on EMC-EMI Control management procedures and choices. Product Non Compliance risks are also made known. EMC strategies can now be self applied.
Overview of existing regulations and standards in major world markets. How important is the EU with CE Marking, various directives, guidelines, MRA, IEC/CISPR vs. CENELEC-ETSI Standards. How does market surveillance work? Tricks of the trade in compliance testing. How important is product liability and accreditation?
What you gain from the course:In a 1 day course the (new) corporate compliance engineer will get a deep insight into interactions of all relevant standards and regulations in major word markets NA, EU, Asia. The focus is however on European issues and CE marking for EMC and RTTE EU directives. Product compliance strategies can now be self developed. Information sources of where and how to get standards/regulations, including current up-dates, is now available.
The EES custom made seminars in this field teaches you how to technically apply basic standards eg. CISPR 16 series from Nov 2003 or IEC 61000-4-x series. Other standard introductions and interpretations are available on request.
